There are a paper and a few useful (although now quite outdated) tools for the Linux Desktop KDE:
- The paper Simulate
Memory Based Device Control by Using Policy Based Design.
- The source directory contains
programs to cut WAV and MP3 files, a signal generator (e.g. for
making an audio test CD), a fourier transformation program and other
utilities.
If you do not like to compile them yourself you may download ready
made binaries:
- The CD-Tools 1.2
are a collection of Perl scripts used to create CDs. Currently there
is a script to create data CDs.
- An improved Printer Icon
for the Desktop; it needs this Shellscript
which should be copied into the KDE bin directory.
Other than the icon installed by RedHat Linux which just starts
the printer manager klpq, you are able to drag and drop files onto
my icon to print them with lpr.
- My Gimmick-Bear shows the current
active window. It must be copied into the directory
.kde/share/apps/kwm/pics/. To activate it you must insert this
kwmrc entry
into the file .kde/share/config/kwmrc.
